Application to register a litter from a dam over 8 years of age

Before you complete this form, please note the following:
The Kennel Club rule B22c (2)
Rule B22c (2) states that The Kennel Club Board will not accept an application to register a litter when the dam has already reached the age of 8 years at the date of whelping, save in exceptional circumstances and only provided the application is made prior to the mating, and the proposed dam has previously whelped at least one other registered litter and permission has been received. Any such application must be supported by veterinary evidence as to the suitability of the bitch involved in the proposed whelping.
Further information (including reasons for non-acceptance)
  1. It is recommended that an application be made a month before the bitch is due in season. This is to ensure that a veterinary certificate is current and appropriate, and not several months out of date. The Kennel Club reserves the right to request an up-to-date veterinary certificate if deemed necessary
  2. A letter from the applicant’s veterinary surgeon must accompany the application stating that the bitch is in good health, and confirming the suitability of the bitch to produce puppies despite her age
  3. Applicants must make clear the exceptional circumstances which they consider apply to their request
  4. Non-acceptance. Applications which will not be considered in any circumstances:
    a) retrospective applications whereby a dam has already been mated, or whelped a litter
    b) applications when a dam has not produced a registered litter prior to her 8th birthday
    c) applications when a dam has already whelped four litters, or has whelped two litters delivered by caesarean section
    d) applications where breed appropriate health tests (as per the requirements of the Assured Breeders scheme) have not been carried out on the proposed dam, or unsatisfactory results received. This is in addition to the veterinary letter
  5. All registered owners of the bitch must sign the application
  6. The Kennel Club will confirm to the applicant, usually by email, the result of their application
