The Kennel Club is the largest organisation in the UK devoted to promoting dog health, welfare and training.  We run the world’s largest dog event, Crufts as well as the UK’s largest registration database for pedigree and crossbreed dogs and the Petlog database, which is one of the UK’s biggest reunification service for microchipped animals. 

We are looking for an HR Administrator to join our busy HR team based in our London headquarters. The role is a full time 12 month fixed term contract, offering a competitive salary and wider benefits. This is a great opportunity to utilise and develop your skills within this great HR team. 

You will be responsible for updating and maintaining the HR electronic personnel files as well as our HR system. You will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department, ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of the HR function. These duties will include but not be limited to, recruitment administration, written correspondence, filing, photocopying, answering the telephone, coding invoices, organising meetings, the completion of reference requests and minute taking for grievance ad disciplinary processes.

Additionally, you may also be required to undertake payroll processes, such as, but not limited to the processing of starters, leavers, changes to terms and conditions of employment, overtime, attachment of earnings, adjustments in conjunction with our payroll bureau.

A good understanding of a range of relevant software packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Previous experience of maintaining a HR database is desirable and the ability to run reports from the system.

The ideal candidate should have excellent administration skills, good organisational skills and an eye for detail. You must have previous experience of working in an administrative role, ideally within an HR department.  You should be a pro-active and enthusiastic team player and able to work well in a busy environment. Strong written and verbal communication is a must.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy, prioritise a busy workload, working independently as well as part of a team. It is crucial in this role that you maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy at all times.
