JCF review panel takes shape

The Kennel Club has confirmed that those Kennel Club Members who are taking forward the AGM proposal to carry out an assessment of the Judges Competency Framework (JCF) have now put forward a number of names to sit on the review panel, which have been endorsed by the Kennel Club Board.
Intermediate Agility qualifiers confirmed

Success for young agility handler and dog at European Open Junior Championships 2019

Tariq, a Border Collie, and her owner, 10-year-old Taylor Lyon from Northamptonshire took 4th place in the Large Under 12 Individual competition at the European Open Junior Agility Championships in Switzerland, which took place between the 12th-14th July.
New DNA testing scheme for the Giant Schnauzer

The Kennel Club has approved a new official DNA testing scheme for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA5) in the Giant Schnauzer following consultation with the breed's health coordinator on behalf of the breed clubs.
Breeds Liaison Council Meeting 6 November 2019

Long live our noble Corgi

The popularity of the endangered Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi has soared ahead of the release of The Queen’s Corgi tomorrow (5 July). Statistics from the Kennel Club show that registrations of both types of Corgi puppies, the Queen’s favourite breed and star of the newly released film, increased by 25 per cent in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2018.
Judges Competency Framework review update

The Kennel Club has announced the winners of its annual Dog Photographer of the Year competition. Now in its fourteenth year, the international competition received almost 7,000 entries from over 70 different countries around the globe, including Brazil, Canada, USA, China, Russia, Australia and New Zealand.
Changes to regulations in relation to event licences

With immediate effect from 1 July 2019, event licence applications, whether for a show, trial or other competition, will cease to refer to ‘guarantors’. Instead, whenever a licence fee is paid for an event, the individual making the application on behalf of the club or society will agree that the officers and committee in place at the time of the event will assume full responsibility for ensuring that it will be conducted safely and in accordance with Kennel Club regulations.
