The Kennel Club has today (April 11) welcomed the news that Defra has issued a note for local authorities in England in which it is made clear that any member of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme of at least three years’ standing should be awarded a five-star breeding licence valid for three years.

Breed supported entry classes will improve open shows and assist in judge education, says Kennel Club

The Kennel Club has issued a reminder to breed clubs that, starting this year, they are each required to support classes for their breed at a minimum of two general or group open shows per year. Under the Judges Competency Framework (JCF) such classes will provide judges with valuable hands-on experience.

The Dog: A Celebration at Chatsworth, inspired by the Duchess of Devonshire’s love for her four-legged friends, runs from the 23rd March to the 6th October 2019 at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire.

Working Sheepdog from Ellesmere Port and owner become Crufts obedience champions

Zuri, a Working Sheepdog, and her owner Kathy Russell from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire took home one of the top obedience prizes at Crufts after winning the Obedience Championship (Bitches) final on March 10. The judge was Philomena Barnes who had also judged the equivalent final for dogs the day before.
