FT Ch Trochry Eau Rouge of Poolgreen, a two-year-old bitch known as Tink, owned by Philip Lewis from Llanelli, Dyfed and handled by William Clulee from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, has won the prestigious Kennel Club Cocker Spaniel Championship for 2020.
Registration of dogs of merle colouring

The Kennel Club has announced that it will no longer accept registration applications for merle-coloured dogs in breeds where there is no documented evidence of the colour having been well established over a sustained period.
Each group to have AVNSC and imported register classes at open and championship shows

General and group show societies must schedule at least one AV Imported Breed Register class for each group at open and championship shows with immediate effect, the Kennel Club has announced. This mirrors the requirement that at least one AVNSC class, where relevant, must also be scheduled for each group at these types of show.

No changes to Kennel Club stud book bands for 2020

The Kennel Club has announced that there will be no changes to the Stud Book bands for 2020. Therefore all breeds will remain in the same bands as for 2019; this will apply for all shows until to 31 December 2020.

The Kennel Club will be holding its Kennel Club Accredited Instructor (KCAI) Awards at Crufts 2020 and is asking for nominations for two awards, the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor of the Year award, modelled on the previous Trainer of the Year Award, and a new award, the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme Significant Contribution award.

WT Ch Glenalpine Fen CDEx - TDEx, a six-year-old Border Collie owned by Pat Herbert, has won the Tracking Dog Stake for the second time at the Kennel Club Working Trials Championships. The Patrol Dog Stake was won by Moira Rogerson’s WT Ch Xandoas Isa CDEx - TDEx, PDEx, a five-year-old Malinois Belgian Shepherd Dog.
