Three new breeds from across the globe are set to wow the public at Crufts, the world’s greatest dog show, for the first time this year.

At the request of the Whippet Breed Council, the Kennel Club has agreed that it will not accept the registration, including any imported dogs, of any merle coloured Whippets.

The next meeting of the Kennel Club Shows Liaison Council will be held at the Kennel Club in London on Monday 13 May 2019. Proposals for inclusion on the agenda should reach the Shows Liaison Council Secretary by 19 February.

Following feedback received from the Eye for a Dog pilot assessments held in 2018, the Kennel Club has relaxed the criteria for taking this assessment from all Judges wishing to be approved to award CCs (JCF Level 4) to those who want to move to a second or subsequent CC breed.

The Kennel Club will be publishing an interim breed standard for the Barbet in the April 2019 edition of the Kennel Club Journal.

A new study has revealed that the number of pedigree dogs at risk of often painful and debilitating inherited diseases is being dramatically reduced by responsible breeders.

The next meeting of the Kennel Club Field Trials Liaison Council will be held at the Kennel Club in London on Thursday 16 May 2019. Proposals for inclusion on the agenda should reach the Working Dog Activities Department at the Kennel Club by Friday 15 February.
