Each group to have AVNSC and imported register classes at open and championship shows

General and group show societies must schedule at least one AV Imported Breed Register class for each group at open and championship shows with immediate effect, the Kennel Club has announced. This mirrors the requirement that at least one AVNSC class, where relevant, must also be scheduled for each group at these types of show.

Updated versions of the specimen schedules for breed shows, reflecting these and other changes for 2020, can now be downloaded from the Kennel Club website.

Kathryn Mansfield, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “The Kennel Club has responded to the wishes of exhibitors by ensuring that from now on, where relevant, each group will have both an Imported Breed Register winner as well as an AVNSC winner competing in the group competition. This can serve only to increase competition and make it more interesting, so we trust that exhibitors will enjoy this latest enhancement to the show scene.”

Organisers of Kennel Club licensed events are reminded that all schedules must conform to the current Kennel Club specimen schedules, and that no changes may be made to a schedule once issued, except with the permission of the Kennel Club. Where schedules have already been printed, societies are asked to adhere to the regulation changes when planning future shows.

The 2020 Show Regulations booklet can be ordered at £2.50 per copy including p&p via the Kennel Club Shop. Copies will also be available for purchase on the Kennel Club stand at Manchester championship show from January 16 - 19.
