Festive days out with your dog

The festive season is a magical time of year, and what better way to celebrate it than by enjoying it with your dog? Across the UK, there are plenty of dog-friendly events and days out, from winter walks to cosy days out. Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly outing or a lavish day trip, we've rounded up some of the best festive experiences to enjoy with your pup, whatever the weather…

1. Don’t forget to market in your calendars

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a traditional market trip! Unbeknownst to many, a lot of Christmas markets in the UK are dog-friendly, making them perfect for a festive day out. Some markets even host special events for dogs, like photo ops with Santa Paws! Our favourites include Bath, Edinburgh, Oxford and of course Winter Wonderland!  Check your local market for more details.

2. Walkies with a twinkly twist

Another easy way to soak up the magic of Christmas is strolling through the city’s main streets.  Many popular streets in cities across the UK dazzle with festive light displays. It’s a lovely way to soak up the holiday spirit while getting some fresh air with your furry friend.

3. What would your dog ask Santa for?

Let your dog have a chance to meet Santa Paws at participating Dobbie's locations from 5th - 24th December.  Your pup can meet Santa, receive a special gift and snap the iconic picture with Father Christmas himself! For a full family experience, add a children’s ticket so they can join in the holiday fun with your four-legged friend! Pre-book to secure your spot and save on photo packages.

4. A twist on movie night with a hot dog!

Enjoy the magic of the movies with your dog at Picturehouse cinemas! These special dog-friendly screenings allow you to watch a film with your pup by your side. It’s a unique and cosy way to spend a festive outing with the whole family. Check your local Picturehouse for upcoming showtimes and don’t forget the treats!

5. Now here's a bright idea...

For the first time ever, the Enchanted Light Trail at Cotswold's Farm Park is officially dog-friendly, meaning your pup can join in on all the fun!  Bring your furry friend along on any date to explore the magical lights path, showcasing festive creations and illuminations, and the best part is that dogs go free with any new or existing booking, making it easy for them to join in on the family festivities.

Remember Christmas can be an overwhelming time with new sights, scents and sounds. Find out more about keeping your dog safe throughout the festive period here.
