Otis

Katy bought her cockapoo, Otis, though she had concerns about the ‘breeder’s’ evasive behaviour and inconsistent stories. When Otis arrived home, he was very unwell and was diagnosed with life-threatening parasites during the first months of his life, and looking back, Katy fears he may have come from a puppy farm.

Katy shared: “Otis became very poorly, he had terrible vomiting and diarrhoea every time he ate. We found out he had every internal parasite the vets could test him for and ear mites that were making him so uncomfortable.

“It seemed never-ending when Otis wasn’t well. I was terrified. Our vet bill was in the thousands, but the breeder refused to believe anything was related to where he came from.”
Though Otis eventually recovered with ongoing care from Katy, the ordeal had a long-lasting impact.

“Thankfully all are well and we love our Otis more than we could ever imagine,” adds Katy. “Looking back now, I know there were so many red flags, but it’s hard to admit I should have walked away.”
