Getme, a Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) from Netherlands, and his co-owner and handler Anouk Huikeshoven won the Hound Group title at Crufts 2024 today (Sunday 10 March), qualifying them for one of just seven places in the Best in Show final later this evening.
Getme (Ch Forget-Me-Not V Tum-Tum’s Vriendjes), aged six, co-owned by Anouk and co-owned and bred by her sister, Gwen Huikeshoven, will return to the Resorts World Arena at the NEC Birmingham this evening, along with six other dogs, to compete for the coveted Best in Show title at Crufts.
People around Britain and the world will be watching to see which dog is crowned Best in Show as the final is shown live on Channel 4 and available to be streamed on the official Crufts YouTube Channel - youtube.com/crufts.
Over 19,000 dogs have been competing for one of the seven places in the Crufts final and a chance to win the most celebrated title in the world of dogs.
Proud co-owner and handler Anouk said: “We were just doing our best, I was surprised that we won! Getme is a very loyal, easy-going dog. This was such a surprise! When the judge was pointing at me I was thinking – wow!”
Helen Kerfoot, Crufts Show Manager, said: “Many congratulations to Getme and Anouk on winning the Hound group title today and earning a place in Best in Show at Crufts 2024.
“Crufts celebrates happy, healthy dogs, and the special relationship between dogs and their owners. This was clear to see today, as Anouk and Getme displayed such a close bond this evening.”
