Agility Team GB secures series of medals at Agility World Championships

Agility Team GB are celebrating a successful week at the 2024 Agility World Championships, bringing home four medals – three silver and one bronze - across team and individual competitions. The World Championships, which took place at Sentower Park, Belgium from 1 – 6 October, saw hundreds of handlers and dogs competing from 47 different countries across the globe.
Dalton Meredith, from Bristol, with his Border Collie, Clippy (Ag Ch Fandabidozi Eclipse Of Dust), won a silver medal in the Intermediate Individual competition, narrowly missing out on retaining his gold medal from last year, following a run-off with Polish competitor, Iwona Golab, with SeeYA, after the pair achieved the same overall result.
Further silver medals were achieved in the Small Individual competition by Martin Reid, from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and his Shetland Sheepdog, Selfie (Ag Ch Get It With Eager To Work), as well as by the Large Team, made up of: Chris Kerton, from Bridgend, with his Border Collie, Cop (Infinity Runners Shanapu); Dave Munnings, from Bicester, Oxfordshire, with his Border Collie, Legacy (Ag Ch Comebyanaway Wot A Legacy); Martin Reid, and Border Collie, Shape (Ag Ch Lilhaze Spring Into Shape); and Naarah Cuddy, from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire with her Border Collie, Lemon (Ag Ch Lilhaze Dark Pleasure).
A bronze medal was also awarded to Naarah Cuddy and Lemon in the Large Individual competition.
Agility Team GB Manager, Greg Derrett said: “The management team are thrilled with the performances from this year’s team. This group of handlers have had a phenomenal year, topping the medal tables at the European Open Championships, followed by these top achievements at the Agility World Championships.
“GB now has partnerships in contention for medals in all heights and it’s very pleasing that all heights have contributed to both competition’s medal haul.”
Agility Team GB consisted of 21 dogs, including reserves, who were selected following the try-out events which were held earlier in the year at Dog Sports Derby in March 2024.
