As the Young Kennel Club approaches its 40th anniversary, entries open for Young Artist of the Year competition
Entries are now open for the Young Kennel Club’s (YKC) annual Artist of the Year competition and budding painters and photographers amongst the membership are encouraged to express their creativity and showcase their dog artistry skills.
Submissions must feature a photo or painting of a dog and should celebrate the YKC's upcoming 40th anniversary, incorporating one of the below three themes:
- Best Portrait of a Dog – create an imaginative portrait of your dog/dogs or a dog you love
- Dogs Through the Decades – illustrate the evolving relationship between young people and dogs over the past 40 years
- Heart-warming Moments – illustrate the emotional impact and connection between a young person and their dog that showcases their bond
This year’s judging panel will be looking for impactful artwork that meets the brief and showcases the artist’s creativity, originality and skill.
The overall winner will receive £80 and four tickets to Crufts 2025; 2nd place will receive £50 and four tickets to Crufts 2025; while 3rd place will receive £30 and four tickets to Crufts 2025.
YKC members have until Friday 31 January 2025 to submit their entries. The images should be portrait only, and no bigger than 10MB, in JPEG format and no smaller than 600x600 pixels.
